I'm Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna talk about the Glacier Chains cable of tire chains with the roller links on the 2023 Ford Expedition Max. We're gonna have 'em on our back axle and they're gonna be on our tires that are the size of 275/55R20. Now these are gonna be great chains if you're in any areas with light snow, you're not really expecting anything other than that. I would recommend them more of a just in case tire chains. They're also gonna be a great set of chains or if you live in any states that require you to have any chains. more

We're gonna have 'em on our rear axle as per what their manual recommends and we're going to have them on our 275 55 R20 tire size. This is gonna be a great set of chains if you just need something for any light conditions or you just need something so you have chains in your vehicle, you might just live in a state that requires you to have 'em. It's also gonna sit very low profile to our vehicle so if you have very limited clearance like we do have today they're gonna be just great. Taking a closer look at our chains, they're gonna be constructed from a low carbon steel, that's just gonna make 'em a lot more durable. more

These are gonna be a great set of chains if you just need to get through anything that's just light snow or if you just need them for just-in-case moments, or if you're in a state where you are required to have chains, but you really don't need chains too often. Taking a closer look at the links themselves, we're gonna have these cables, and they're gonna have these roller links on top of them that's gonna help 'em sit a lot closer to your tire. That's gonna make 'em class-S compatible, giving you plenty of room back here so it won't hit anything. more

Our chains are gonna be constructed from a nickel alloy, so that's not only gonna make them very durable, but it's gonna make them corrosion-resistant. They're also gonna have these square links on them, and those square links are gonna give you the ability to go through that snow and light ice. more

These are really good chains to have if you have some snow and some ice, and you want extra traction on the road. This version comes with cams, so that's an extra tightening system, but you can also get the exact same snow tire chains without cams. Titan Twist Link Tire Chains Installation - 2019 Ford Expedition- Video
All right. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Titan Twist Link Snow Tire Chains on our 2019 Ford Expedition. These chains, I would recommend for you if you're going to be in a very deep snow situation, not so much the ice. We do have some that come with ice spikes on the top, but these are going to give you a better ride, a relatively smoother ride because of the twist links that we have up here as compared to the square links on some other chains.So if we want to come closer and take a look, all right, so as we can see right here, a closer to look at these twist links that are going to let you drive on the road without a lot of that jarring going on. We can also see that this is a ladder-style chain, so that's going to help with stopping and acceleration to give you that extra traction that you need in that deep snow situation. These are constructed of a low carbon steel, so they are going to resist rust and corrosion pretty well. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Titan V-Bar style chains with cams on our 2019 Ford Expedition.So a couple of things I wanted to point out on these chains are these V-bars or ice spikes. These are going to be for your more aggressive situations like when you're out taking a trip up to the mountains or you live in an area where you have a lot of snow or ice that builds up. As you can see, these are twizzling style, so that's going to keep these from getting damaged as you're driving. But since they are V-bars, you want to make sure you're only using them in the most extreme situations.Down here we have our cam tighteners and they're just going to help us get these all tightened up with the included tool. However, we do recommend you pick up a pair of additional tighteners just in case it's going to help you as you're driving down the road as well to keep them centered on your tire. more

All right guys, so a couple of things I wanted to show you more detail on this specific tire chain for your Expedition, as you can see right here we've got traction going this way, we've got a link on that way and then we've got our, in this center right here, another piece of chain. What that's going to do for you is provide extra traction, not only going forward and back when stopping or accelerating, but it's also going to give you traction when you're making turns. So that's a really great feature of these diamond chains.As you can see a closeup right here, this is a square link. That is going to provide you extra traction as well. more

So this does have a V-Bar style link, which is going to be the more aggressive style of your snow tire chains. This is going to wear down a little bit more than some of your square shaped links, but it is going to give you superior traction to all of those. It may be a little rougher ride, but this is definitely going to get you out of those snowy or icy situations. more

So we do have some square links that are going to be made of manganese nickel alloy steel. So it's going to help resist rust and corrosion and just keep it from wearing down really quickly.It is SAES Class certified so it is going to give you a smooth ride, and fit pretty well in your wheel well. It does have a diamond pattern which is going to give you really good traction for stopping and acceleration. One thing that I really do like about these tire chains, it does have a built in tensioner, which a lot of the times you're supposed to get these rubber tensioners that aren't attached to your chains. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2011 Ford Expedition- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford Expedition with tire size P275/65-R18, we'll be installing Glacier Tire Chains, part number PW2028C. Now, these tire chains are perfect for the occasional use, a feature of rugged steel wiring covered with case hardened steel rollers for traction. Now before we install our tire chains, we'll get them out of the packaging, lay them flat on the floor and make sure that we have all kinks out of it. We'll then go ahead and identify the correct chain to use and the correct location. Now, each tire chain is labeled with a yellow label indicating the direction of travel as well as which side of the vehicle you'll need to install these chains on. Another great way to find out is to ensure that the hook of the side chains faces outward when mounted on the tire. more
